Summer Plant and Mushroom Walk with Bo Brown and Mike Snyder

$50.00

We’re proud to announce another chance to learn in-person from two of the top regional foraging educators, Mike Snyder and Bo Brown!

We will gather at Bo’s property on the gorgeous and bountiful Niangua River near Lead Mine Conservation Area (about an hour north of Springfield, MO), on Sunday, June 30th from 10AM - 2PM. We will explore multiple habitat types to learn about as many different species as possible. Bo will regale us with stories of traditional plant uses and teach us how to identify the species we encounter, and Mike will show us how to identify the mushrooms we see while filling us in on important fungal ecological interactions. Both will share ways to prepare these nutritious and delicious wild foods so you can continue your foraging journey at home and know how to best enjoy your bounty.

Bo is a renowned regional foraging expert and author of two excellent regional field guides: Foraging the Ozarks and Foraging Central Grasslands. Decades of in-depth field work and his dedication to teaching others to appreciate nature is what makes him one of the foremost foraging educators in the Midwest. Mike is a myco-educator who has been studying and foraging for mushrooms for over 15 years. He is on the Board of the Missouri Mycological Society and heads up both the Speaking Engagement and the Research committees for that organization. He is a certified mushroom identification expert in three states and has become one of the most trusted mushroom experts in our region.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn from two extremely knowledgeable and passionate instructors in an intimate and informative way. We will undoubtedly sell out, so if you want to join us for this experience don’t hesitate! Tickets are $50, are for ONE person, and are non-refundable unless we have someone to take your spot. You should receive email confirmation of your ticket purchase immediately. If not, please check your spam folder and let us know if you don’t find it. The full address and more details will be sent out to registrants just prior to the event. Please understand, we’re always hopeful but there is no guarantee that Mother Nature will cooperate and provide us with mushrooms to observe. Event is rain or shine, but if severe weather is forecasted we will cancel or reschedule. Also, this event is an educational opportunity and not for gathering large amounts of plants or mushrooms.
