ABOUT MIKE & CARA
Hi! We’re Mike and Cara (and Everlee!).
We grew up roaming the Ozark hills and hollows, learning from our elders about the importance of good food and hard work. We have two amazing adult children and a precocious six-year-old who keeps us very busy. We built a strawbale house, by hand and with the help of many friends, on a rocky wooded hillside in the South-Central Missouri Ozarks, where we have also built a life for ourselves. WildWise Botanicals is the result of our journey together over the last twenty-plus years. We grow and wild harvest culinary and medicinal herbs and specialty mushrooms and use them to create unique products of the highest quality possible. We are always learning and teaching, and we love to share the bounty with everyone!
While navigating through severe illness, we made the discovery of a whole world of medicinal and edible plants that grow all around us or are easy to grow ourselves. The world of plants eventually led to the world of fungi, which has become our life passion. We believe in the power of plants and fungi to change lives, and we want to share their knowledge with you.
We have worked over a decade to transform our rocky hillside into a small but productive herb and mushroom farm, and we’re excited to see what the future brings. We’re passionate about the plant and fungal allies we have encountered thus far, and we are devoted to producing extracts, salves, tea blends, mushrooms, and learning opportunities of the highest quality!
