PRIVATE MUSHROOM CLASSES AND WALKS

Mike is a regional mushroom and edible plant educator and loves to teach others about the abundance the Ozarks has to offer. We offer a chance for people to have a private mushroom class right on their property.

Mike will come to your chosen location and explore the site with you for four hours. Many aspects of fungi are detailed, including identification tips, culinary uses, possible medicinal qualities, and the ecological connections of the fungi we find. Most mushroom enthusiasts agree the best way to learn about fungi is to have a knowledgeable person teaching you first hand, so if you want to learn a lot in a short time this is the way to do it.

The basic fee for this service is $250. If you are more than an hour from us an extra travel charge will be added. We generally stay within 3 hours of home, which is just south of Rolla, MO. A $50 deposit is required to reserve a date. It is a good idea to schedule well ahead of time, as we will get booked up. Most people offset the cost of a private class or hike by inviting friends and family to attend and each group will pitch in a portion. A group of 15 or less is best in order for everyone to be able to interact and ask questions.
